Our world is constantly changing. There’s always some new fad or craze going around. The same goes for nutrition. The new miracle health food is always right around the corner. However, some of these nutrition trends can be extremely beneficial. Here are a few of 2015’s top nutrition trends:
1. Seeds and nuts are the top super foods of the year. 2. Green tea remains a popular health drink, with multiple benefits and detoxifying powers. 3. Gluten free diets continue to dominate society. Though there are no proven weight loss benefits from eliminating gluten from one’s diet, the perception remains and the craze continues. 4. Good fat vs. Bad fat also comes to play this year. Fats are among the macronutrients needed for survival. Dietitians recommend eating mono and polyunsaturated fats rather than consuming saturated fat, a trend that will keep on growing. 5. GMO free and organic foods are becoming more sought after. More natural foods are becoming the norm. 6. Convenience, taste and price. Shoppers want foods that meet these basic needs. So, in order to work healthy foods into one’s diet, producers may need to start following these traits. |
